The next time you purchase a new pair of eyeglasses, you may want to more closely explore the different types of eyeglass lenses that are available. At The Eye Works Optometry, you can see our Green Valley CA optometrist for a comprehensive eye exam, and also learn about the multifocal eyeglass lens options that are available to you.

When you come into our vision care practice to see our Green Valley CA optometrist, you will be seen by our top-notch optometrist, Dr. Craig Sultan. You will then be able to purchase an exciting new pair of eyeglasses which contain the proper eyeglass lenses to work with your prescription needs and lifestyle. Today, multifocal eyeglass lenses are very useful to many people. When a pair of eyeglasses has bifocal lenses it means that there are two different lens strengths in one lens. Trifocals contain three different lens strengths. In regular bifocal or trifocal lenses, there is a line of delineation between the different lens strengths. While these eyeglasses are extremely convenient since you do not need to change eyeglasses in order to see something at different distances, they do have lines of delineation that make it obvious where one lens prescription begins and the other ends. This can reduce your field of vision, and also make it obvious to other people that you are wearing bifocal or trifocal lenses. Many of our customers prefer getting progressive lenses. Progressive lenses can have several different lens strengths in them. However, the great benefit of progressive lenses is that there are no lines of delineation between the different lens strengths. Not only does this provide you with a larger field of vision, and make it easier to see clearly, but it also does not alert others to the fact that you are wearing bifocals. Many people feel that when they are seen wearing bifocals, it may give away their age, or make them look older.
